[All day event] CHARITY is kissing boo-boos

When was the last time you kissed a child's boo-boos? Have you ever listened to a friend as they complained about their job? When your wi fe has had a rough day, do you rub her back, buy her favorite ice cream, suggest a movie out together? Do you have a reputation for being someone w ho can be counted on when things go wrong? If you answered yes, congratula tions! You've been practicing a spiritual work of mercy. The work of mercy we practice by kissing cuts or bringing home peach swirl is "Comforting the afflicted." Sometimes we think we have to volunteer our summers in Ethiopi a to help the afflicted. But when we think of mercy that way, we are setti ng ourselves up to feel guilty because we're not Mother Teresa.
