The most compelling question that every Christian man must ask is this: What am I doing today that will be an influence for Jesus Christ in the next generation? We cannot hold onto the world, we can only hand it to others. It's as if you are a father with yo ur arms wrapped around your young son's shoulders, helping him get the fee l of the bat. Swing and miss. Swing and connect. There is no glory in that moment - only hints of glory as a pattern is established. It may be years b efore your boy can swing for the fence. Someday, though, he will stand at the plate where the balls are hard and fast. It's a game where they call r eal strikes, and some men strike out.
