Trap Shoot Introduction
The next Trap Shoot event will be on {{sc_trap_date.data.query.trap_shoot_date.formatDate('dddd, MM/dd/yyyy')}}. The event will be held at the Aurora Gun Club, 3001 S Gun Club Road, Aurora, CO 80018.
The following items are needed (they will try to provide if you don’t have them):
- 1. Shotgun.
- 2. Trap or target loads only (7 ½ or 8 shot shells).
- 3. Eye and ear protection.
- 4 . Shotgun shell bag and belt.
- Check In Procedures
- 1. Park on the east or west side of the clubhouse (gray brick building).
- 2. Leave your unloaded shotgun(s) in your vehicle.
- 3. Check in at the clubhouse:
- Sign non-member waiver
- Purchase trap tickets ($9.00 per round). There is maximum of 2 rounds
- Ammo available ($13.00 per box)
- 4. Attend safety talk & Trap Shooting Explanation.
- 5. Sign up for relay.
- 6. Only unloaded shotguns may be transported to range.
- Pump Shotguns must have their actions open
- Over/Under Shotguns need to be transported
- Over/Under Shotguns can be closed at the gun rack and placed in the rack
- 7. Range officers will be wearing red vests and supervising the shoot.
- Safety Rules
- 1. All firearms will always be treated as loaded (rifles, shotguns, pistols).
- 2. All firearms will be always pointed in a safe direction.
- 3. Firearms will only be loaded at the firing line with one shell at a time.
- 4. Never put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
- 5. A red cone on the trap house means someone is down range. Firearms are not to be touched until the red come is removed.
- 7. Deer and antelope are sometimes on the property — cease fire immediately if seen.
- 8. Instructions by a range officer will be followed without question.
- 9. Eye and ear protection are mandatory (available at clubhouse).
- 10. Aurora Gun Club badges must be worn.
- 11. Only trap and target loads may be used on the trap range (7 ½ or 8 shot shells).
