Affection is so important for women that they become confused when their husbands don't respond in like kind. A wife may call her husband at work, just to talk. She often feels disappointed when he cuts it short. It doesn't mean he doesn't love her; he simply has different priorities because of a different set of basic needs. My needs fo r protection, approval, and care are not the same as hers, nor are they met in similar ways. I've had to discover these differences and act accordi ngly. When we walk through a shopping center, it is important to her that we hold hands, something that would never occur to me. But I'm glad to do so, because I know she enjoys that and it says something she wants to hear . If that simple act makes her feel loved and che... |
