Description | "I beg you to be kind and listen to our brief account." ~ i>Acts 24:4 Erma was waiting for her flight. It felt good just sitti ng and reading a book, with no one to bother her. Just then a woman sat do wn and said, "Bet it's cold in Chicago." Erma said coldly, "Probably". Th e kept talking, and Erma kept responding coldly. Then the woman dropped th e bombshell. She was taking her husband back to Chicago. He had died after 53 years of marriage. Erma's heart sank. She closed her book, held the wom an's hand, and listened. When the call to board came, they walked arm in arm to the plane. Then they went to their assigned seats, wh ich were a few rows apart. As Erma buckled up, she heard the woman say to the person next to her, "Bet it's cold in Chicago."
