I believe that God created all other things to help us carry out this lofty purpose. I believe, therefore, that we should use the oth er things God created, insofar as they help us carry out the purpose for w hich we were created and to abstain from them insofar as they hinder us fro m doing this. Therefore, we shouldn't prefer, out of hand, certain thing s to others, for example, health to sickness, wealth to poverty, honor to dishonor, or a long life to a short one.
