We can spread peace, not disc ord, wherever we go. We can try to be part of the cure of every situation , not part of the problem. We can work patiently to make things better. We can always try to build up, never to tear down. We can show others by our example that happiness comes from living the right way. So, before the game, I brought the team together and explained that we spend 80 percent of our time thinking about ourselves and 1 4 percent thinking about others. We need never forge t to say thank you to God, even on the grayest days. Our attitude can be o ne of humility and gratitude. Saying thank you to God is a daily practice t hat is absolutely necessary. If a day is not one of thankfulness, the prac tice has to b e repeated until it becomes so. Gratitude is a necessity for those who seek to live a better life. ~ Fr. Pat Umberger
