Description "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God: ble ssed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God: bl essed are they that are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." ~ Matthew 5: 8-10

All Saints' Day is for all the known and unknown saints who have died and gone before us and who are at rest with Christ. Simply put, to be a saint is to do God's will eac h day throughout one's life to the best of one's ability. This is God's cal l for each of us who have been brought into His Body, the Church, through Baptism. The origin of this feast day can be traced back to the 4th centur y. Ephrem of Syria and John Chrysostom, both Eastern Church Fathers, call ed this day the feast of martyrs of the whole world. Pope Gregory IV (827-8 44) made November 1st as the feast day for all the Saints. ~ Catholic Encyc lopedia
